Agencies:

Service Agency: An agency is an entity that provides training and screens and refers externs to the training. An agency can be one person or more than one person. An agency is a legal entity that has liability insurance to cover its employees while on the premises of a Walgreens store. An agency is the employer of job coaches.

Funding Agency: A funding agency is an entitiy that provides the resources for training but is not the employer of the job coach. A funding agency may screen and refer externs to training. A funding agency can submit a proposal for a session on behalf of a service agency IF the funding agency is accepting the responsibility for providing the resources for that service agency to provide the training. Funding agencies are recognized on this site as a convenience to the parties involved in training and in recognition of the manner that services for people with disabilities are funded in this country. It is possible for an agency to be both a funding agency and a service agency. It is possible for a service agency to find its own resources (or funding) and simply exist in registration for this site as a service agency.

The relationship between funding agencies and service agencies is independent of Walgreen Co., a member of Walgreens Boots Alliance. Walgreen Co. accepts no responsibility for the relationships or connections between funding and service agencies.

Several individual representatives of the same agencies can be registered on behalf of that agency on this site. It is the responsibility of the agency to ensure coordination of these representatives occurs. Representatives can register on the REDI Portal by visiting www.WalgreensREDI.com and follow the prompts to create an account. The REDI Portal is the primary mechanism for representatives to receive notices from Walgreens of pending REDI sessions. All REDI training sessions are scheduled by Walgreens, and agency representatives are invited to submit proposals to conduct a session in their service area. The first representative of an organization to register on the REDI portal will be the primary administrator for that agency's registration.

Multiple representatives of an organization can register on the REDI portal and all can act on behalf of the agency to propose conducting REDI training sessions. Agency representatives will also be able to assign job coaches and externs to sessions.

Job coaches:

The individuals who provide the in-store training, can be invited to register by an agency member in the future. This invitation will send a secure email with a link to register on this site. Once the job coach has completed registration, the agency can assign her/him to any session. As part of registration, job coaches are required to take on-line training and acknowledge the requirements of the REDI program. Prior to providing training in-store for the first time, a job coach must be trained and evaluated by a Walgreens store manager. This training can take up to 2 weeks. Training of a job coach, can postpone the start date of training for externs, the store manager will handle this postponement if it is necessary and it will not influence acceptance of the agency's proposal.

Externs:

Individuals who are trained by a job coach in a Walgreens store, can be invited to register by an agency member. This invitation will send a secure email with a link to register on this site. Once the extern has completed registration, the agency can assign her/him to any session. As part of registration, externs are required to acknowledge aspects of the REDI program. At the end of the program session, the Walgreens store manager will evaluate the extern's performance. If the program is successfully completed, externs receive a certificate of completion reflecting the skills demonstrated during the training. Walgreens also registers the evaluation score into the Walgreens on-line application system to facilitate hiring opportunities.
